Shane Wikfors was born and raised in Tucson Arizona where he attended Canyon Del Oro High School. After graduating from high school, Shane enlisted in the United States Navy where he was trained to operate nuclear reactors. He served aboard the USS Enterprise during several critical military campaigns.
After completing six years of service, Shane returned to Tucson to pursue and obtain a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Economics, Political Science, History) from the University of Arizona. It was at that time that he became active in Arizona politics and political campaigns.
While in school, he worked as the Administrative Director of Tucson Right to Life and President of the University of Arizona Students for Life. It was also at this time Shane began involved in grassroots development and public policy advocacy through his involvement with The Arizona Christian Coalition and Republican Party. He served twice on the Pima County Republican Executive Committee.
In 1994, Shane ran for the Arizona State House of Representatives while completing his senior year at the University of Arizona. He ran as the lone Republican against two well-financed Democrat incumbents. He narrowly lost in his bit but did shock the political establishment with his low budget, grassroots campaign.
In 1998, Shane returned to school to pursue his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He completed the program in 2000 with his course study emphasis on business development, public relations and political consulting.
Later that same year, Shane and his family moved to Mesa as he took on the role of Executive Director for Arizona Right to Life. Under his leadership, he successfully modernized operations, set records in fundraising and reasserted the organization as a major player in Arizona's public policy and political arena. He was also able to heighten the role of the organization in the community through public relations campaigns and special events using the Culture of Life theme and message that promoted a vision to protect life not only in law but in the culture.
In 2001, Shane helped co-found and organize the Arizona Life Coalition - a collaboration of Arizona's pro-life organizations focused on affirming and affecting a culture of life in Arizona. He served five years as the secretary of the organization and was involved in seeking approval of "Choose Life" license plates for Arizona.
Currently, Shane owns and operates Red Mountain Consulting and Development providing services to political candidates and non-profit organizations. In 2009, he was instrumental with Americans for Prosperity in organizing town hall meetings and the TEA Party movement across Arizona. He has worked on many political campaigns including, JD Hayworth, Ruth McClung and David Schweikert as well as a multitude of legislative, county and city campaigns. Most recently, he served as the Communications and Social Media Director for the Arizona Republican Party.
In his spare time, Shane has served on a variety of organizational boards including, Red Mountain Ranch PTC, Red Mountain Ranch Home Owners Association, Arizona Family Project, Arizona Taxpayers Action Committee and Hope Women’s Center. He also enjoys gardening and is active in the county Master Gardener Program. Shane is also an active member of his church, Central Christian Church of the East Valley.
In February, 2006, Shane created the conservative political blogsite Sonoran Alliance which has become one of Arizona's most popular conservative political blogs. He also trains activists on the use of social media for political activism
Shane has been married to Kristine for over 28 years and together, they have four children ranging in age from 14 to 25.
